Another Premiere Hotel in Sheffield
The Premier Chain has hundreds of hotels in England. They are not great destination hotels, but more like the Holiday Inn Express style of hotel. The rooms are plain, but clean and functional. If you are not lookng for a great 5 star destination, these will do.
Unique Quality: The Central City hotel is in a great location for exploring the center of Sheffield. It is also just a few doors down from Loyds Pub, Good cheap food and a great beer selection. That's the good part.
The bad part of this hotel is also the location. If you don't know the layout of Sheffield center, You will never find it. The directions given on the website and their hotel book. That combined with the fact that there are few if any road name signs in Sheffield make it very difficult to find. The first night I stayed, it 2 hours wandering the city in the rain in my car to find it. To add to the confusion, there is nowhere to stop in front of the hotel. I passed the hotel twice, but could not stop. You must park first and walk to the hotel.
The hotel has no parking, you will be required to park in the nearby public parking garage at the end of Bank Street. It costs about 3.50 GBP to park for the night if you get your ticket validated at the hotel.
