There are many walks in and around Felixstowe, along the promenade, cliffs at Landguard Nature Reserve, around the golf course, the Grove, and along the Rivers Deben, Stour and Orwell.

I was in Felixstowe during Diana's funeral in September 1997. The whole country shut down for a day (except for the bars). There was a huge spontanteous outpouring of emotion. Despite the misgivings in the tabloids, Diana was hugely popular amongst the commoners.
The picture is a war memorial that was turned into a memorial for Diana.
If you are visiting Felixstowe and do not fancy swimming in the cold, and in my opinion, not too clean North Sea, then the alternative after sunning yourself on the beach, is to head for the Leisure Centre.
