photo joanj My fondest memory of Ipswich is because my eldest son, wife, and twin daughters (born April 17th 2004) now live here, and of course that is what I miss most when I am away from Ipswich.
Ipswich Town Football Club
Portman Road is the home of Ipswich Town Football Club, a place where I have spent many afternoons and evenings watching matches since 1982. If for some strange reason, you want to see photos of me and my friends following Ipswich games, follow this link: www.tractorboys.net Match and ticket information is updated regularly on the official club website so check there for details. The stadium capacity is 30,000. Big games usualy sell-out but other games it is possible to buy tickets on the day. If you are not sure, the best thing is to call the club and check if you need to buy a ticket in advance.
I'm not very good at this, so if it turns out wrongly I apologise!
There are so many exotic and beautiful places in the world, that sometimes one's own back yard can get overlooked. So here is a picture of rural England (maybe more, if I get the hang of it!).
These pictures of the countryside outside of the small town where I live. Ipswich is several miles away, with more shops and facilities!
Suffolk is one of the counties of eastern England called East Anglia. I love going to cities and other countries, yet when I'm driving round Suffolk I often think how beautiful the place is, and hope visitors feel the same way too!
In and around Ipswich ~ Downtown (2)
There are many churches in and around Ipswich. Many of them are open to the public for viewing. This is just one of the favourites for weddings.
If you are a theater lover then you will enjoy an evening's entertainment here at the famous Regent Theatre. Many world famous stars have appeared here performing spectacular shows unlike our Wolsey Theatre which stages theatrical plays by more localised talents.
The Odeon is a complex of cinema halls offering various movies to suit all tastes. You will find it situated right next door to the Regent Theater.
The local bus terminal is right next to the opposite entrance of the shopping mall.
There are many local buses, on offer to the public, travelling in and around the Ipswich area. Most areas are covered and the office is also there should you have any questions. As of 2003 the maximum fare is £1.10
