Long Melford
Long Melford is a Suffolk village which claims to have the longest main street in the country. A couple of miles long, the road is an interesting place for a walk as it is lined with a mix of architectural styles - from Tudor to Victorian - and a good mix of shops, including lots of antique stores.
We also passed by some very inviting looking pubs and a very interesting sounding restaurant. Sounds like Long Melford could well be a good base to explore the surrounding countryside.
Don't leave without visiting the very impressive Holy Trinity Church, which is located on the edge of town, at the top end of the green.
