"Big wide sandy beach"
This view we had when we left the car park and walked towards the pier took us by surprise. When we told people we were going to Lowestoft for the day, they said - Why ? I believe they only think of the town as the dock area, but here you can see a wonderful huge sandy beach, and as this was August Bank Holiday, there was still plenty of beach between families, it was not crowded at all, because it can accommodate hordes of people.
You can see the pier in the distance, and beyond that, is where the docks are situated.
There are activities too around the pier area, crazy golf etc.
So we spent an enjoyable day walking all the way to the pier and back, stopping for refreshment of course, and just people watching.
