Little Twynax: Antique Breakfast Nook
This downstairs view of our breakfast nook shows more characteristics of the old cottage. The low ceiling beams made for a nice atmosphere and the decor was very well done. The door in the background leads out into the remainder of the house.
The second photo shows my breakfast view of old farm implements hanging on the wall, and the dark wood door at the right led onto a twisting old starway that led to an upstairs hallway and our bedroom. For breakfast, we had our choice of cereals, fruit, juice and tea or coffee each morning. The order for the main course was given to the hosts the evening before and a time for breakfast was settled on. Sue had the best scrambled eggs with toast in quite some time for hers, while I tucked into the Traditional Old English with its bacon, brown beans, mushrooms, fried tomato, fried eggs and toast. It was great food!
The third photo shows our little living room, with the entrance to the breakfast area off to
the left. We brought our luggage around the end of the house and in through a rear door that leads into this room. No point in lugging the cases up those winding stairs with no other guests around, so the hosts suggested we just leave it there on the ground floor. It was also nice to have a Christmas tree to put us in the proper Holiday spirit!
