St. Nicholas' Cathedral by steventilly
St. Nicholas' Cathedral dates originally from the 12th century, at which time it was simply a church. It was consecrated as a cathedral only in 1882 and much of what can be seen now dates from the 14th century. It's rather small size by comparison to most cathedrals and many churches, is due to the war torn nature of the area in medieval times. The 'crown spire' is one of only four in the country, it is the earliest of them (1470) and is regarded as being the best.
