This is a lovely hotel set in the heart of the countryside and although Rugby is ever encroaching on it, it is managing to keep a feeling of seclusion; the grounds are wonderful to walk around, they feel just natural, not prettified and pampered like some hotel grounds. It is part of a corporate chain but its listed building status has prevented much change or development of the original Victorian Gothic structure. The house still retains a feeling of country house living. As part of a chain there are the usual facilities and standards you’d expect.
For everyone that travels this world, and I guess that that will be almost everyone who visits VT, pay homage to Brownsover Hall as this is the place where Sir Frank Whittle designed the jet engine, the forerunner of the power for every jet airliner today.
