Doesn't look like anything.

Unless stated otherwise (e.g. offering a 'welcome pack' of groceries) then most self-catering accommodation will only have whatever the previous occupants left behind (if anything) and, maybe, salt & pepper. This is usual.

So best to assume nothing is there, apart from the tea/coffee making stuff mentioned on their website (oh, and the 'continental breakfast' supplies which you'll get in the kitchen each day, apparently).

Travel Tips for Stratford-upon-Avon

Hall's Croft

by yooperprof

Tudor house with ample connections to the Shakespeare family. William's elder daughter Susannah married its owner, Dr. John Hall, in 1607. Presently the house contains 17th century paintings and furniture which would have been appropriate for someone of the Hall's status in Jacobean England. Also information about the esoteric practice of medecine during Renaissance England. Later, after Shakespeare's death Dr. and Mrs. Hall moved from this residence to Shakespeare's own accomodation, New Place, which had been left to Susannah after Will's death.

Having fun!

by Jenniflower

We both enjoy a good explore!

The houses in Stratford are great for exploring, especially those that are a little larger and where there sin't a guide in every room, watching your every step!

Hall's Croft was our favourite one for exploring, it's sprawling inside and out, and, because there weren't tons of people here, we felt we could take our time to explore.

We were also allowed to take photos inside which was great, as the others do not allow this.

Go for a barge ride, a walk in the beautiful Riverside and Bancroft Gardens... and above all, enjoy :)

Hook Norton Brewery.

by Tdiver

As it's to the South East of Stratford and about 20 km away most people just don't visit but if you like the British ales then it's a must being so close.
John Harris started brewing on the site in 1849.
Tour lasts 2 hours with samples of course!!

Stratford's War Memorial

by Watsoncomper

In Bancroft Gardens is Stratford's war memorial.

Two local children designed the form of the monument, which was then fabricated by Horton Quarries Ltd

The monument was to 50 years of peace since the Second World War and was dedicated in 1995

The Falstaff Experience

by Mique

The museum describes itself as follows... 'A living museum we're dying to show you' Of course it os a bit of a tourist trap as is the whole of Stratford i guess. But the museum is fun nevertheless. And gives quite a bit of information on the side as well. But it is fragmented. It has a part on the story of the house itself (Shrieves House) . From there on you'll progress to the haunted chamber. Here you'll learn about religious persecution. This is all on the ground floor. It is rather small in this section so if there are people coming in after you the place feels rather crowded and it gives a bit of a rushed feeling. But we just let them pass and read on...

When you go up the stairs you'll come to the Plague Cottage. Here you can read up on the Great Plague. And of course there are the visuals.. the Plague cottage itself and more. I for one didn't know that during the Great Plague almost 25 million people died in Europe. That is so many..

From the plague Cottage you'll progress to the Witches Glade. Here i met up with the Witchfinder General. A truly scary fellow. After that i learned the origins of many a superstition.

Then there was a part of the civil war. Which i found much less interesting. And the Fallstaff Tavern. A recreation of the tavern that used to be there.

It ends on the ground floor again with the old curiosity shop. The most funny shop i have been to. And all of it is for sale.

It'll take you somewhere between 30 minutes if you do the really fast round and an hour and a half if you decide to read up on everything.

They also do ghost tours and midnight vigils. But we had left by that time. It would have been something to be in that ancient house at midnight....
