laundry service?

by Silverarrow226

Can anyone tell me if there is a laundry service located in or near Strafrod-upon-avon that we can drop off and pick up the same day? Looking for the same thing near the West End of London. What would this cost?

Thanks,

Debbie

Travel Tips for Stratford-upon-Avon

Street Entertainers

by Watsoncomper

All through the year but particularly in the summer there are a number of street entertainers around Stratford.

Waterside and the open park are particularly popular with many impromptu acts to entertain the visitors.

Firs Gardens

by Jenniflower

This garden was across the road from our B&B. We walked through here quite a few times, often sitting down and hearing the birds, and watching the squirrels playing.

It was refurbished in 1990 as part of a scheme to generally clean up the local areas.

It used to part of the garden belonging to a house called 'The Firs', which no longer exists.

In 1910, Marie Correlli, a well known novellist, bought the garden to be used for the benefit of the whole town.

It's this kind of community spirit that is evident all over Stratford-upon-Avon really... which is really nice we thought :)

River walk

by Watsoncomper

Instead of following the street from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre to the Holy Trinity church go to the riverside of the Theatre and pass the Theatre cafe and pickup a pathway by the river.

Follow this and it will take you through a small park until you eventually come to the Holy Trinity Church.

A pleasant scenic walk away from the traffic

Great historic bar

by JoeNYC about Dirty Duck/Black Swan

This restaurant/bar is across the street from the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and is a great bar. I've eaten there (Black Swan is the restaurant side name) only once and the food was just OK, but the bar (Dirty Duck) is very well known. After many RSC performances it'll fill up with theatre goers and many of the actors of the RSC. They'll gladly let you buy them a pint and chat with you about the play or whatever. It's the best place for drinks and a good time in Stratford besides watching a good play. A pint of bitter

Shakespeare Theatre

by DUNK67

The Royal Shakespeare Theatre is set on the banks of the picturesque River Avon. The plays of William Shakespeare can be seen here everyday and are well worth taking a look at even if you`re not into that kind of thing. Tickets can be picked up fairly cheaply but the more popular plays you need to get tickets as early as possible.

The last play I saw there was A Comedy Of Errors, although it was a liitle bit slow to start with it turned out to be a very funny play.

A bar is available and you can even order drinks so that they are waiting for you when the interval starts.
