This was the dining room at the farm. And the food was good too!

Monk's Barn Farm..the surrounding countyside

I came across this lovely scene on my walk to the tiny village of Clifford Chambers. The best part of staying here was being able to take these pleasant country walks.

Unique Quality: The river is the Avon and it runs through the farm. Even if you don't fancy going into the village the surrounding fields provide a great place to take a quiet country walk.

Great for camping and caravaning too!

If you really like the great outdoors this farm also accomodates campers and caravaners. They have a couple of little fields set aside for this purpose.

Great place to go walking

Walking around the countryside really gave me a taste of the real England. The walk into Clifford Chambers was a very rewarding experience. This laneway was particularly enchanting.

My little piece of paradise

I chose this B&B from the internet and I couldn't have done a better job. I wanted to be a little out of Stratford so I could enjoy the countryside. Well...I fell in love with the place straight away. It is a working sheep farm right in the middle of some of the most beautiful scenery I was to encounter in the UK. The rooms were clean and well furnished and the bed comfy.
Breakfasts were a real treat and they even had Vegemite! I found also the other guests were friendly and relaxed and my whole stay there left me with many happy memories.

Unique Quality: The small village of Clifford Chambers lies about a mile away accross the fields. The pub there does good meals and most guests take a walk there for their evening meal. The walk itself was a real delight. It had it all. Green grassy fields, stiles, a tiny bridge over the river Avon...I could go on and on.
Another striking feature of this place was the barn itself. It has been dated pre 1500's and is currently waiting to be thatched. It is a large building and was once used by the monk's for storing their produce.
Rita and Bill the proprietors are very friendly and helpful. Rita was more than happy to take me to and from town and even spent time on the internet getting details for me on transport up to Scotland. They have been running this business for 15 years now and are not only wonderful hosts but nice people too.
A cab fare out from Stratford was only about five pound.
