Avon Guest House

We stayed one night of two originally planned. One room freezing. One owner friendly and helpful, his wife downright unpleasant when we enquired about likely duration of noisy private party they were enjoying in their private quarters. So much for customer service- her response was: it may go on all night; this is my home- I can do what I like; if you don't like it I'll happily move you to another guest house/ room (this at 9.30pm with small children asleep and unwell mother unable to sleep); if you don't like it, give me notice that you're moving out- I can easily fill your room. Her reaction really took us aback. We took up her invitation and moved out after one night. Can't comment on breakfast as they weren't serving any (owing to late party the night before??) Have written to "Quality in Tourism" organisation to query their excellent rating -this was a terrible advert for English tourism!! Would not recommend.

This B&B is like a home from home. Recently taken over by Nina and Richard who have renovated every room in the 12 months they have owned the property.

Richard cooks one of the best English Breakfasts I have ever had. No matter if you are staying one night or longer you will feel right at home.
