RE: Birmingham Airport

by leics

By train takes about 35 - 45 minutes, costs 3.90 GBP single. www.nationalrail.co.uk for timetables/fares.

Coach takes between 1 and 2hrs 30, costs 6GBP single. www.nationalexpress.com

You could get a bus into Birmingham, then a bus to Wolverhampton but it's not worth the hassle, imo.

I'd take the train.

Travel Tips for Birmingham

Internet Cafes

by Galahad

For those VT member who want to keep in touch I have now come across 2 internet cafes. The first in the Pallisades Centre (0121 633 9803). The Pallisades Centre is at the top of the escalators above New Street Station, and the internet cafe is immediately at the top of the escalators.
The 2nd is on the very top floor of the Pavillions Shopping Centre, outside HMV records and next to Waterstones Bookshop. Here they are selling vouchers for 5 hours for £5.00

Lichfield

by leffe3

Just 40 minutes by train from Birmingham New Street, the stylish cathedral city of Lichfield is easily reached. The home of Samuel Johnson (the writer/complier of The English dictionary), Erasmus Darwin (father of Charles) - both have museums in their memory and honour - along with the 12th century three-spired Cathedral and the charm of the city centre make it an excellent day out from Birmingham.

Cheap shop decent clothes!

by kayleigh06 about Primark

This shop is a 3-story building with kids clothes and home ware on the bottom floor, womens clothes on the 1st floor and womens underwear & mens clothes on the 2nd floor.

Primark is a good place to go if youwant something to just wear once, or for clothes that are just going to get wrecked, because u can so easily replace the items!

Monday 9.00-7.00
Tuesday 9.00-7.00
Wednesday 9.00-7.00
Thursday 9.00-8.00
Friday 9.00-7.00
Saturday 9.00-7.00
Sunday 11.00-5.00 You can buy clothes and home ware in Primark Primark is really cheap and u can get normal plain t-shirts from as little as £3 (thats the only 1 i can remember seeing!) and this shop is definatley cheaper than average!

Taxis

by graeme83

All the taxis I have used in Birmingham have been reliable and priced correctly. If get a black taxi they will always use a meter. Do not negotiate a price with the driver as he will always go by the meter, although he should be able to give you a rough idea of the cost.

A cheaper option is to pre-book a taxi with a firm. They will tell you the price of a journey when you phone them and send a driver to your address. There are many firms around Birmingham depending on where you are. I use Phoenix Taxi Company regularly.

Evening: Monday to Saturday £11.90

All Day: Sundays £8.90

Please be advised that the meat and chicken is Halal. Chicken Balls, Red Thai Beef Curry, Chicken in Chilli Sauce, Special Fried Rice
