A tall hotel

A modern, high rise hotel in the city of Birmingham. We are one of the few hotels in Birmingham that combines a central location for both business and leisure, with a full complement of amenities. Our hotel in Birmingham offers a range of luxury room options.

Luxury in Birmingham!

This hotel is smashing and well worth a stay if you come to Birmingham. I live here but have stayed twice for a treat with a friend, I felt pampered everytime!!
The hotel itself is on a busy bar and restaurant area of Birmingham which means no shortage of places to eat and drink (Broad Street). The hotel is classily decorated with staff speaking a range of languages and who are only too happy to help. From the moment you arrive the concierge is there to offer car parking, taxi and event support. Note: there is no hotel car park and you have to park down the road in the Hyatt's car park (approx £12 per day added to your bill) however if you take your car to the Hyatt they will let you drop your bags off first, avoids an up hill walk back to from the car park with all your luggage.
The hotel has a restaurant, bar and spa. The restaurant is nice (if a little chilly due to some over zealous air con) and the food is pleasant. The menu is small and quite expensive but since the room rate is very reasonable the food charge is dampened. The wines are lovely and the range is extensive including some VERY expensive champagnes! The Spa is a treat! They offer a range of treatments and massages, have a pool and a gym on site that is free to use if you are a guest of the hotel. The treatments range in price starting at approx £30 for a massage and I have it on good authority that they are well worth it.
The rooms are the real success of this hotel, all decorated similarly and are crisp and clean, bright decoration with air con, wi fi access, safe and mini bars in rooms. The TV's are plasma wall mounted. The bathrooms are very luxurious and come with gorgeous toiletries and bathrobes (which you can also purchase). Each time I stayed I requested a room above the 18th floor and I would recommend that you do the same as the views of Birmingham from this height are astounding - you will never look at Brum the same way again!!

Unique Quality: Spectacular views.
Great service.
Perfectly situated in the hub of Birmingham's mainstream nightlife!
Chack out their website and book on line as they do some great deals (and they also have an on line concierge service to book restaurants, sporting events and spa visits etc as soon as you have booked)

Not Worth It

I stayed here when it was my works Christmas party in December 2006. We had a 17th floor room with a view looking out onto Broad Street. The view was a good view but the hotel room itself was a let down for the money paid to stay there. Personally i would NOT stay here again unless it was offered to me for free. As you walk inside the hotel the inside is nice itself but as i said just the rooms are a massive LETDOWN.

Unique Quality: Erm... Unique Qualities???

For the best trip to Birmingham...

The Hyatt is probably the most well known hotel in Birmingham and is located right in the centre with direct access to ICC (Internation Convention Centre) by means of a walkway. There are 319 suits which give fantasic view over the city centre. The top three floors are occupied by the Hyatt Regency Club.

Unique Quality: Aria Restaurant, Hyatt Regency Birmingham's cosmopolitan restaurant, offers a varied menu that draws on European cuisine. Snacks and appetisers are served in the hotel's Atrium Lobby while Pravda bar offers an extensive drinks menu and provides the perfect venue for a pre-theatre dinner drink.

More about Hyatt Regency Birmingham

Worth the splurge but more convenient if you're straight!

by A TripAdvisor Member

No, there was absolutely no homophobia from the Hyatt or its staff. I've had great service at Hyatts and this was no exception. It's just the location. The hotel is right on Broad Street immediately opposite the Symphony and at the beginning of where all the pubs are. I needed to be at Hurst Street, where the Hippodrome Theatre and the ballet is, as well as being the main drag for the gay bars. It's about a 20 minute walk, but the Holiday Inn and the Ibis are better situated for that, though not of the same quality.

I found the best rate at Octopus Travel - lower than Hyatt's own website, but they could not honor their best rate guarantee because the Octopus rate came *with* breakfast and the Hyatt rate did not. It's kind of ridiculous, they can only match the absolute exact same rate.

The room was modern and lovely with a calm eggshell colored decor and a panoramic view from floor to ceiling windows. The breakfast buffet in the atrium came with great fruit, cold salmon and ham. The hot food and cereals were slightly less interesting, but that may just be my taste and they will do eggs to order. The health club is very good. Wireless was painfully expensive at the hotel and I could not find nearby alternatives. I walked into the center of town to Beatties Department Store - there is free wireless in the basement cafe. At the Hyatt because of some oddity with the server you can send outgoing email from your room without charge, but you have to pay for any incoming.

No free biscuits!

Quite nice as four-star hotels go, but there were no biscuits to dunk in my tea and no hot chocolate. The nearby Crowne Plaza supplied free biscuits when I stayed there a year before.

The right quality for the right price

by TripAdvisor Member linford1000

Just got back from two nights in the Hyatt hotel.

We stayed in a King room on the regency floor (22) so had use of the regency club / lounge during our stay as well as a great view over Birmingham.

The hotel was perfect for us. The room was fantastic, the lounge (with free drinks, food etc) was a lovely addition to our stay and gave us somewhere over than our room to relax in and the staff were all kind and attentive.

We stayed up to watch Lee Evans in the NIA and had the added bonus that he was also staying in the same hotel. We met him in the bar afterwards (Pravda) and he was kind enough to come over and chat to us.

All in all a great weekend, made better by a great hotel.

way below standard

staff rude, a la carte food poor - both quality and choice. room ok. when i asked to complain re the food, i was just told that i should write in. have done so but no reply. i expected better from a hyatt but was sadly dissapointed.

Very impressive

by TripAdvisor Member conferenceprofessional

I managed a conference at this hotel and was very impressed by the quality of the building, food and service.

This hotel is pretty much perfect when it comes to the facilities. It's very smart, stylish, light and airy and the interior decor is hard not to like. Nice touches include subtle lighting in the atrium and the vases, sculptures etc. around the lobby.

The food we had at the restaurant, and in the conference, including breakfast were all very good.

Rooms are stylish and comfortable. A couple of very minor service glitches, but nothing that would cause me to hesitate in using this hotel again - for leisure or business. Very impressive hotel.
