Fantastic Value For Money!

NiteNite is a great concept.

Tiny rooms (less than 7sq ft) housing just a double bed, wall-mounted plasma TV, desk and ensuite wet room, for as little as £45 when booked in advance.

They are not for the claustrophobic - they do not have windows and are marketed as 'cabin style' bed areas.

However, they are definitely not scruffy, dirty or anything like hostels.

The rooms are contemporary and now include extra perks like free wireless and free Blockbuster movies.

The hotel is situated just behind the Mailbox; so less than half a mile to New Street Station and within a 10-15 minute walk to the High Street and Bullring for shopping.

Unique Quality: Personally, I would rather stay at Nite Nite for £45 and enjoy the very modern, if tiny, room - and friendly service, than stay at a larger but tired room in a Travel Lodge for £60+

One thing I would say - these rooms are not good for people who don't know each other very well: you would only want to share with your partner or best friend, as the door to the wet room is made of frosted glass... you can't see through; but you can see shadows of movement!

If you're only in Birmingham for one night, or just need a place to crash after being out partying or going to a gig, etc, Nite Nite is perfect. If you don't need the extra space; why pay for it?

Good Nitenite

by TripAdvisor Member miss_elusive

I had been trawling through reviews of hotels in Birmingham looking to find one of good quality but good value for one night. I was having a tough task to find both! I did a Google search and stumbled upon NiteNite hotel Birmingham. They had advanced purchase non refundable rates available, so I booked a room for £39.95.

Its location was excellent a mere 5 minute walk from New Street station and the hub of "The Mailbox" (restaurants and shops)

The hotel itself was very new looking and well maintained. The check in staff were helpful and explained the room's layout.
I was impressed with my room, yes it was very small but for me for one night I was not complaining. It was clean, new and had everything I required.

The bed is against the left side of the room at the bottom there is a 42" plasma screen TV which has cable channels and shows cctv of the views across the city. There is a small desk below a large mirror. The bathroom or wet room so to speak was great not cramped at all. I loved the shower.

I would say though, this is really more of a room for one although there is a double bed. I would not suggest staying for too long if there are two people. Only because of the very little space within the room to actually accommodate two persons. However because the rooms are so small they have designed the hotel in such a way that there is lots of spaces, seating areas etc for people to do work, sit and relax, go on the internet and just have a drink and chill out, I like this about the hotel.

Breakfast is not included in the hotel's amenities, however there is a nice looking deli cafe next door which looked good but I did not frequent.

I did really enjoy my one night at NiteNite Birmingham. It fulfilled its requirements. I had a very comfortable stay indeed especially for the price of £39.95 I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and will be coming back.

Please note.. its not for the claustrophobic!!

Small is beautiful

OK - so what do you expect for such a bargain price? You could spend a few quid more and stay at the charmless Premier Travel Inn where you would be able to dance in the drably decorated room..or you can try something new...like NiteNite. There are books about Blue Ocean strategy..where a business ignores its competitors and tries something totally new. So forget you are going to a hotel. You are going to an Oasis for the night (they use this word in their PR). Somewhere beautiful to stay with a comfy bed and crisp sheets and a good shower and helpful staff in a modern but very human space. Imagine you are on a sleeper train or a ship. This is a better comparison than a hotel.
It is perfect. Expensive tasteful furnishings, great location and pounds in your pocket to spend out and about in Brum (which has a lot to offer these days).

I love it. Other reviews say that it isnt suitable for 2. Well in that case a sleeper train isnt suitable even for 1... It was fine. 2 nights and 2 very happy guests. By the way the Swiss 'Deli' next door was good; less of a bargain, ok food but beautifully designed. I like good design. I love Nite Nite!

Cool!

Incredible hotel.....certainly unique and in a fantastic location in the city centre.

I stayed for one night on a business trip. hotel was a few minutes walk from the railway station and beside the nightlife of Broad Street.

Will definitely use it again

The Modern Cell

by TripAdvisor Member pyorks

Good location. Minutes walk from mailbox and numerous bars and restaurants.Paid £54 for room - booked 2 days before, I undersatnd that you can book in advance for as little as circa £35. I stayed here for 1 night on business as we struggled to find availabilty elsewhere. Pleasant modern reception - quick and friendly check in - complimentray fruit a nice touch. Throughout common areas and in room is spotless clean and modern. I stayed on my own in room - how 2 people could stay in this room I do not know! Luckily I met a colleague for dinner - there is no room service availble and you would not want to stay in your cell - I mean room alone all night as it could potentially send you loopy as is very confined. No wardrobe just fixed hangers to the wall - quite awkward to fit everything on. Huge plasma screen TV - to be honest a bit over powering as so close. Good sound proofing in walls but not from door. Wetroom was good and spacious. I just felt very confined and like I was in somekind of futuristic prison cell .

Unusual but great value

I stay overnight a lot in Birmingham as I am a Villa season ticket holder ( dont laugh, someone has to) I have to travel a lot and an overnight stay is usually preferable. As stated over and over the rooms are tiny, however, they are very clean, the plasma tv is to die for and wifi etc a good bonus too as not many hotels offer this. The location is great. Please note though, its great for me, I suspect if you are fussy, or despite the reviews you havent realised the compact nature of the rooms then dont stay here. I heard a guy whingeing as I checked out, and it was obvious he did know the nature of the place, but thought the rooms would somehow grow bigger once he shut his door. Idiot!!, its a great place for a day or two, you cant knock the facilties and location for the price. Stay here. I am already rebooked.

You can't really go wrong!

by TripAdvisor Member guitargaz

Stayed here for one night and you can't fault it for the price. It is true as you may have seen from other reviews that the rooms are very small be it really doesn't bother me. If you are like me and you just use hotels as a base to sleep and shower it's ideal. I booked the hotel and a show at the hippodrome for just £40 per person (the room was £39.95!), you would pay 3 times that much anywhere in london.

Rooms have a huge plasma, nice shower/wet room. If you want a quiet room they have a seperate section, so just ask for a room at the end of the corridor.

Reception staff were really friendly and helpful. Because it was my girlfriends' brithday they also threw in breakfast in the Swiss Cafe just off the reception area.

Just a warning, it is quite tricky to find. Just head for the mailbox and follow the path off to the right hand side going out of the rear entrance.

Highly recommended, for £20 per person you con't go wrong!

Not for the claustrophobic

by TripAdvisor Member angwri

I again have to stress how very small the rooms are. It is the first thing that strikes you when you walk through the door, but as you spend more time it seems to become less obvious.
The bed is the only place to do anything (eat, drink, watch TV, etc) so you do feel a little "slobby".
The whole hotel is very clean & is very well located for the NIA, Symphony Hall, New St railway station & the shopping centre. All the reception staff were friendly & helpful. The deli where breakfast is served acts as a bar during the evening. There are plenty of vending machines for drinks & snacks.
There was a lot of noise from the corridors during my stay, but I guess I was maybe unlucky in finding some inconsiderate fellow guests.
All in all for a reasonably priced, short stay in the city centre it is just the job

Bargain!!

by TripAdvisor Member NN10

We stayed here for one night and were really impressed.
Only £40.00 per room per night is such a bargain. the hotel is really modern and clean and eventhough the rooms are small, it is perfectly fine for couples.
The bathroom is a wet room with a frosted glass door which you could easily see through so personally I wouldn't recommend for groups of friends as there isn't much privacy, but it's ideal for a place to sleep while on a night out on Broadstreet.
The location is ideal!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our break and would definitely stay there again.

convenient for bars etc but dont entertain it if claustrophobic

by TripAdvisor Member mollynewcastleUlyme

justed stayed 1 night at hotel for weekend in birmingham read reviews, sounded ok and reasonable price, for cheap weekend away. Dont stay if at all claustraphobic, as I am, dreadful experience, no window felt like being in a cellar. So tiny just sise of bed with space to open door, only 1 person could stand on floor at a time, glass door to bathroom, so make sure you know one anotther well. Massive plasma tele, ( size of bed), so close gives you headache, feels like watching seat back tele on planes, only worse cause its so big. Definatley wont be staying again and will be wary of bargain hotels.
