A Business Stopover

In 2005, my Dad had to go down to Birmingham twice in a short time period on business and he asked my mother and I to accompany him on each occasion.

We stayed two nights at this Travelodge, a UK chain hotel company. From what I remember, the room I had was spacious with an ensuite bathroom and I had a pleasant stay. My Dad's room and all the others were more or less similar to mine. Breakfast isn't included but you either purchase a continental breakfast or have breakfast at one of the many cafe and restaurants that surround the hotel. The latter we did as we found a cute Italian cafe on the same street and this is where we also had our dinner one evening.

I don't remember the rate my Dad paid but you can find out and further information on their website.

Unique Quality: It's convenient for the city centre's attractions and only a short walk away.

OK for nearby nightlife

Stayed here a couple of times. Its a bit of a walk for New Street station and can be very noisy. It doesn't help that the pub next door has its rubbish collected at 7am. Staff were nice and it was a cheap one night stay.

Cheap and well located for nights out!

I have often stayed at the Travel lodge on Broad Street as it is so well placed for a cheap room when you want to stay out late without the hassle of taxis. A travel lodge is a travel lodge and you always know what you are going to get but sometimes this is just what you want. The rooms are clean and generally quite large. The bathrooms are sparse but more than adequate.
The hotel reception is small and very often the queue to be served is quite long. There is no restaurant at this travel lodge but Broad Street is teeming with food options as is Brindley Place and the close by City Centre. A small chiller unit stocks sandwiches and some drinks but if you are peckish there is a Sainsbury's metro store just across the road which is open till late most days.

Unique Quality: Nothing unique it is what it is :-)
