Visit the Musimum of Science and Industry
It is the musium at the starting point of the industrial revolution. Loads of fantastic exhibits you just cant see anywhere else. The markets are great particularly the fish market in the Bull Ring.
West Midland Safari Park
by Taffster
West Midland Safari Park lies a short journey away from the centre of Birmingham.
A 4 mile road twists through the park to get you up close and personal with the animals.
You can buy special diet feed for the free roaming animals as you enter.
The safari will allow you to encounter animals such as giraffe, lions, rhinos, elephants and many more!
There are further attractions such as a reptile house and bat cave when you enter into the 'theme park' area.
You will also find some theme park rides which can be paid for when you enter the area.

Broad Street - At the end of the night.
by Angbur
As I said in my intro to Brum, Broadstreet is a must for nightlife. There is everything that you could want down there. Pubs, Clubs, Restaurants, Theatres, Cinemas, Hotels, Bars you name it its there.
The place can get packed though, especially at weekend nights, some estimates reckon there's around 50,000 people every Saturday night, (all on one stretch of road less than a mile - it gets busy) that makes getting a Taxi a bit of a bugger. So if you are not staying within walking distance, have a designated driver it makes getting back a hell of a lot easier.
Contemporary Italian
by leffe3 about Cielo
A fabulous place with wonderful food to match. It's large, contemporary restaurant, so don't go anticipitating a quiet candle-lit romantic dinner (or lunch) for two. Wrong place:) It's noisy in a busy, open but well sound-proofed way (no echoing or sounds bouncing off tiles).
Service is super efficient and quick when it needs to be, but essentially left to your own pace and company (our table of 5 for Sunday lunch was there fore more than 2.5 hours and never hurried). Lots of space between tables. The food was extraordinary. We had the set 3 course Sunday lunch - ranging from the very Italian roast beef and Yorkshire pudding (:)), the twice roasted pork belly, the vegetarian pasta (main and starters) were all extraordinary (even the 'obvious' fresh parma with fig was exceptional).
Couldn't fault the food at all, nor the service that was not phased by the 11 year old wanting things different to the menu etc...
