I stayed at the said hotel recently . The service was very quick and the people who worked there were very nice and polite. The room is was in was small but cosy . The hotel has a good transport link to the city centre and has a cinema up the road.
Views werent good as the hotel was surroiunded by buildings and the big wheel.

The view from my room

It's basic but handy for the NEC, being only four miles away. This place does require a car though. Its also handy for Hall Green dog-track, Ladypool Rd (for the baltis) and Birmingham city centre (about a fifteen minute drive). There's no breakfast but there is a restaurant right next door called Spice Buffet where you can pig out on as much as you can eat for about £8. If you're driving to the NEC in the morning there's an excellent greasy spoon at the turning for the airport estate (on the left). Look for the signs.
