Travel Tips for Coventry

Ricoh Arena

by Thistle-Rose

This is the home of Coventry City F.C and a fantastic stadium which hold about 32,600 and also has a casino on site, hotel, leisure club and exhibition hall.I have become a Cov fan, since my girlfriend has been a supporter all her life.I have already seen the ups and downs of being a sky blue fan and you never know what you will get when you turn up to watch them which can be a bit frustrating.Lets just hope they can get into the Premiership soon. There's a club shop on site at the Ricoh Arena were you can purchase your very own sky blue kit.

Quiet villages with nice...

by steventilly

Quiet villages with nice country pubs, swish spa towns (such as Leamington), historic towns (like Warwick, Kenilworth and Stratford)... most of the interesting stuff is 'off the beaten path' from Coventry.

Update on Habibbis

by denise16 about Habbibis,

Since my last tip on this wonderful palce, the resturant has been awarded the Coventry Godiva Award and updated their menu.
Now its even better. The mezza starters both hot and cold, but probably the stuffed vine leaves.

The Cottage

by Myfanwe

'The Cottage' at 22 Bayley lane was built about 1500 and is the only remining example of numerous timber framed housed which stood in this area. It is notable for its' original carved and traceried woodwork. Chimneys were added in the 17th Century and the shop window is early 19 Century.

Bronze Statues

by Pete.Gibson

As you approach Coventry Cathedral, you are overlooked by the rather imposing bronze statues of St. Michael and the Devil on the southern end of the east wall. (Ecclesiastically speaking, the west end of the south wall.) It was sculpted by Sir Jacob Epstein who sadly died in 1959 and therefore didn't live to see his masterpiece mounted on the cathedral wall a year later.
