A really traditional, old fashioned place to stay. The building is full of character with lots of nooks and crannies, corridors and quirks. My room was at the back and was extremely well decorated and had a flat screen TV. The room and bathroom were nice and clean and I slept well. The only thing that woke me in the night was an owl hooting outside the window and I didnt mind that one bit! Evening meal was very tasty, the wine list good, and breakfast enormous! The whole thing was like something from a bygone age but that meant you got proper service too. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The location could not be bettered in the ehart of this sleepy town, and there was plenty of car parking behind the hotel. My only gripe was having to pay extra for wi-fi. All BestWestern hotels now do it for free, and I hope others will follow suit, or they`ll miss out where customers have a choice.
Directions: On the main street, plenty of parking through arch at rear.
