This B&B is within easy walking distance of the town center. The owners are very friendly and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, clean, and well appointed, and the breakfast is magnificent! The only drawback if you have a lot of luggage is that there are no elevators and the stairs are a bit narrow. I would recommend it, and intend to stay there again on my next visit.
Unique Quality: Cranston House is not only close to the town center, but also Mount Noddy recreation facilities (name apparently derives from the days when folks were hanged regularly, hence "nodding" heads), and the beautiful park at East Court, a Georgian former private house, with remarkable views to distant Ashdown Forest.
Directions: From the one way system in the center of East Grinstead take the A264 (Moat Road) to Tunbridge Wells. When in Moat Road, turn into the third road on the right (Cranston Road) to find Cranston House. If you miss it, you will arrive at a roundabout.
