nice memories with those lovely faces stay lingers in our minds ...
whenever we enter such a beautiful place
old houses and trees with golden leaves
slowly pace down our steps
and our eyes are welcoming by a word by the side of the road
: something bear within our names
for the glorious past
and those first class medals
the bodies lie peacefully by the altar inside the church
our salutes
and love
: thank you to make us proud
every single day
oak leaves just fallen
under the autumn sky
by the charming wind from the north
: do you know how we miss you?
you'll always be in our hearts

Steyning is a small village near to where I live in west Sussex, only around 50 miles from London at the foot of the South Downs with lots of amenities such as shops, banks and a leisure centre.
I grew up around here so know the village and surrounding countryside well and reccomend anyone who is in this part of the world to call in have a look around. If you give me an email in advance I might be able to show you around.
The village is fullof history with the Saxons being present and the Normans helping to shape the village as we know it.
It even used to have a railway station, but the line has long gone now. The nearest station is Shoreham-By-Sea 5 miles away.
Steyning Grammar School is a very old school indeed, and I was lucky enough to study here. A school has existed on the site in Church Street since 1584. In 1614 more land was bequeathed by William Holland
In 1953 the modern Shooting Field site was opened by the Duke of Wellington and provided learning for over 400 children. In 1966 a boarding house was opened.
In 1968 it became a comprehensive school but retained the grammar in it's name.
In 1994 the dedicated 6th form centre was opened for A level students, named after Tony Russell the late deputy head.
