From the Ilkley train station you can catch "the Pride of the Yorkshire Dales" bus to Bolton Abbey. Once you get to Bolton Abbey you are surrounded by some of the best scenery in Yorkshire (maybe even England some would say). Many movies have been filmed in this country side and it is beautiful!! There are a lot of paths to walk on and you can follow the river for many hours for a great hike (there are even some waterfalls).
In the summer there are stepping stones in front of the Abbey that allows you to cross over the river and have a great view. (I was there in the winter and the water level was too high!)
This is a great place to spend a day.
