Music

There is a good programme of concerts at the town hall featuring a number of top class orchestra from UK and overseas. Leeds is internationally noted for its piano festival.
I only go this far for classical music but the website below is more cahtolic.

by DOUGALSMUM about Pool court at 42
For a special meal out take you and yours to this restaurant , attached to the prestigious "42 The Calls" hotel it is a michelin starred gastranomic delight.
The ambience is subdued, but not stuffy, The service is excellent, and the food is to die for.
It is not a cheap night out, but it is exceptional value for money as everything about this place from the cutlery to the apres dinner coffee is "spot on " Whatever you order, you will enjoy it.
Car Boot Sales
by amlapura
Want to see something different. Try the car boot sales during the weekend. Personally, having been to many places in the UK; I think this region offers some of the best car boot sales. In Leeds, there's only one, at a place called Cross Green, but not genuine and expensive too. This opens almost all year round. But away from Leeds, there are a few good ones that operate regularly:
1. Pannal (close to Harrogate - can take bus No. 36: http://www.harrogateanddistrict.co.uk/)
2. Weatherby racecourse
3. Leeds-Bradford airport
4. York racecourse (Saturdays)
5. Ripley (near the castle) - every fortnightly - check with locals
6. Rufforth (between Weatherby and York)
All on Sunday mornings. I think No. 1 is the best. It's located at the roundabout between A658 and A61. Opens April to October.
Bus in the UK, I would say as terrible on Sundays, due to reduced frequency and late start. So plan ahead if you need to take bus.
