Rufforth car boot

by mistichic1994

Is rufforth car boot on EVERY sunday???

RE: Rufforth car boot

by Mariajoy

Yes..I've never been, but according to the Yorkshire Post Today its on every Sunday:

"Rufforth
Car Boot Sale: Rufforth Park car park, B1224 between Wetherby and York, every Sun, 10am-1pm. 01904 738620."

I suppose it might help to ring them first just in case it's cancelled due to bad weather.

Rufforth Car Boot is always on every Sunday despite the weather.
A large portion of it is inside a huge building, and even if the weather is crappy, you will still find the stallwarts outside.

Who posted Rufforth under LEEDS :((( It's YORK! :)))

Rufforth is in fact where York airport is and I nearly got a light plane in my head after those flies had taken over my egg sarnie :))) Oh gosh Maria, I'm glad Keith has gone to bed as this makes me laugh...he actually bought a "Get by in Russian" casette at the car boot that time whilst I still think we should have bought that huuuuuge travel agency reference book!

But to get back to business, indeed it is indoors too so it's great on a rainy day. There is also a decent pub nearby :)

Please can you tell me if you are wanting to sell unwated house items and the Car Boot starts at 10am. What time cars need to be there to set up on Sunday mornings

Thanks

Nicola

Re: Rufforth car boot

The queues to get in will start about 6am in the summer and about 4am in the winter.
If the weather is good, you will always get a pitch outside, but if the weather is crappy you will need to get there a lot earlier than the above listed times.
The inside pitch's are limited, a lot of trade stands are indoors and there are a limited number of stands available for car-booters.

Travel Tips for Leeds

Leeds Tip

by SusanneBeck

Visiting Leeds Metropolitan University. This was a great university. The staff were friendly and genuinely seemed to care. There was a fun atmosphere and lots of things on offer to do in your free time. The student union looked great and the university looked really nice.

Get on a bus and come to...

by Diosa

Get on a bus and come to Harrogate!! This is my home town, and worth a visit if you're in the area. Surrounded entirely by grass (The Stray.. great for picnics!) come and enjoy the quaint little tea rooms, lively bars, have a turkish bath or wander around the stunning Harlow Car Gardens!

Grandma's Food. Finest Chocolates. Wisdom books.

by spidermiss about Happyness Cafe

*5th January 2011: I learnt today that the cafe has gone into liquidisation. Very sad times but I have got some very fond memories!*

It's so special for their hot chocolate! I never tasted anything so good! Relaxed and quiet atmosphere! This cafe has just opened in Leeds a few months ago and hope it goes from strength to strength! The hot chocolate! There's a choice of dark or milk chocolate and the drink is topped up with cream and chocolate sprinklers.

CURRY, CURRY, CURRY

by alyf1961 about AKBARS

Akbars is a Pakistani restaurant. The food is delicious and all my favourites were on the menu. The surroundings were very modern, all glass and chrome.
We ordered a family size naan bread, when it came it was massive and hanging from a steel stand. chicken tikka masala. the poppodoms and dips as a starter were delicious.

Dour booggers

by CliffClaven

Yorkshire cricketers don't go for the flashy flamboyance of 'them booggers down south'. Their famous batsmen - Herbert Sutcliffe, Len Hutton, Geoff Boycott - have ground out runs with dependable precision. In the first half of the 20th century, Yorkshire dominated English cricket to such an extent that it won half of the country's annual county championships. For an exercise in dour mental attrition, try a day at Headingley, Yorkshire's home ground in Leeds.
