More about Bewleys Hotel Leeds
Excellent quality for the price
Having staying in far too many 'business type' hotels (e.g. Premier Travel Inn, TravelLodge, Ibis, Accor etc etc), I was VERY impressed with Bewley's Hotel.
The reception and bar staff were helpful, the hotel was very clean, the room was spacious and the bathroom was spotless. It also helped that they have parking for over 100 cars (first come, first served) for only £5 on top of the already competitive £69 for the room.
Overall - very impressed.
A very good Hotel
Having previously stayed at the Holiday Inn Express, near the Armouries, and been disappointed, I decided to try something different. I'd seen Bewleys recommended in a Sunday paper so thought I'd give it a try, and I'm glad I did.
It has everything a business hotel needs. Clean comfortable rooms, with extra towels provided. The restaurant is fine with good service and a reasonable menu. The breakfast experience, as mentioned by a previous reviewer, is slightly different, having to collect your buffet breakfast on a tray, but it's no hassle and in fact speeds the whole process up. Most importantly the buffet selection was good. Added to that the underground parking is very convenient.
The only slight problem was that I couldn't connect to broadband in my room, and had to use the free Wi-Fi in the lobby to collect e-mails. But all in all a good stay, and I'll happily be returning next month.
Stayed for one night for a hen party and wasn't expecting much - how wrong!!!
It was great - clean, smart, stylish, nice staff, great bedrooms (very comfy beds).
It was good value for money due to fixed rates - and you can have three to a room.
Please don't be put off by all the hens and stags as the hotel standards are very high. I think that those prepared to pay a little more stay here - so it's nicer than average.
Bar was great - very friendly and not badly priced.
10 mins from leeds on foot or a £6 taxi ride - so good location. Taxis are a bit strange in leeds but friendly enough - one asked for directions! Still =- good value.
Breakfast served till 11 so nice lie in on a weekend. The breakfast was great vaule for money and was of a high standard. Great variety of food and very nice. Restaurant very nice too, will probably have meal in next time.
Went to Est, Est, Est for food = not very good,. Bland food and slow staff. Wouldn't recommend.
Overall - great hotel, great weekend - would highly recommend Leeds for everyone.
An excellent place and hidden gem
Stayed last weekend whilst having a night out in Leeds. Overall impression of the hotel was excellent - from the helpful staff on reception during check-in (there was a group of 10 checking in, but we were taken to one side and dealt with, thus check-in was literally 2 mins). Room was on the 4th floor which looked out over the front of the hotel. Overall, the room was better than some i've stayed in within 4 * hotels - bathroom was spotless, with bath, power shower and a plentiful supply of towels. Main room had a very comfortable double bed (which was the best nights sleep i'd had for a while), sofa, walk in wardrobe, and a work desk complete with free broadband (wish i'd taken my laptop).
The hotel is situated 5 mins walk from the city centre, within a complex of high end offices and new appartments, and on the same road as the train station. Previous comments saying it's in a dodgy area are not true. We walked back to the hotel at around 1.30am on a Saturday night and did not feel uneasy - infact i felt safer then than during the day at home.
Would recommend this hotel to anyone visting Leeds either on business, personal or simply for a night out. Don't dismiss that the £69.99 evryday rate gets you a reduced service - for the standard of accomodation and service i received, i've paid nearly twice this before.
Great value for money
Stayed here as a hen party. Originally booked it was it was the cheapest and most convenient place for us all to stay in Leeds. Was pleasantly surprised. The staff were great, the rooms lovely and comfy and given the location of the hotel, it was nice and quiet. Buffet breakfast was fantastic!
This was fantastic value for 69.00 per room - the room had a large king size bed and a single - so you could comfortably sleep 3 people in here - because I was on my own the room seemed enormous! The bed was the comfyest bed I have slept in for a hotel! comfy pillows and duvet as well - bliss! Within easy walking distance of Leeds city centre - the location is excellant. Breakfast the next day was good value also. Overall fantastic value, fantastic experience, would not hesitate to reccomend.
Good base for nightlife
Bewleys is a modern clean cut hotel just outsideside the city centre. ideal fo sight seeing and clubbing. The staff are friendlyish and the restaurant and bar reasonably priced. Only problem bar closes at 1 AM. A good place to stay if you want to be close to centre of Leeds and not have to pay exorbitant prices.
Perfect for a weekend stay
Very spacious. Lovely reception and bar area. Perfect place to take that special somebody to. Only bad point is the pillows, they are much too soft and also the lack of air conditioning but other than that we had a perfect evening and it would rate it 9/10
Lovely Spacious Hotel
lovely spacious rooms, clean and tidy, lovely bar area and reception helpful check-in staff, For £69 a night you can't fault this hotel in the slightest, only 5minutes walk to the centre of leeds.
only fault i found of the hotel is that there was only 2large towels in the room and there wasnt any spares in the cupboard where there should have been.
Other than that EXCELLENT stay and will be going back!!!
