Stay over night in Leeds airport?

by MosKing

I will flight from Leeds airport in the very early morning (07:00 Am),
but I don't live in Leeds, I am woundering if I can stay in the airport over night?

I had found some posters about sleep in the leeds airport:
http://www.sleepinginairports.net/europe/leeds.htm

But I also got some respones saying that the airport will closed in mid-night.

anybody knows? Thanks a lot!

When you are waiting for your flight , you could just stretch out and dose off in the departure lounge. (This is if you are really early!!) Why would you want to sleep in the airport anyway. Are you worried that you might miss your flight? Why don't you time it such that you arrive early in the morning rather than sleep over in the night. It is pretty uncomfortable and boring. That's your choice.

With more info I could help you as Im from Leeds. As far as I know Leeds/Bradford airport does not close at night but I could be wrong. Why not just stay at newish travel lodge nearby: 0870 191 1775 or you can find out if airport closes by phoning them on 44 (0) 113 250 9696

Im sorry to hijack the question but i have the same problem and its more of the same in that my flight leaves 6am and i need to book in i believe an hour and a half ahead. so there is no point staying in a b and b, and the public transport has stopped running. Unfortunatly i dont drive. Leeds bradford airport replied to me saying they dont allow people to sleep overnight and gave me the travelodge number but at 41 pounds per night this is not a good deal for my situation. And a reason i was booking a cheap destination.
I was hoping i could just wait somewhere inside and not go to sleep till my flight takes off. would anyone know if this is possible as i assume the flights are ongoing throughout the night?

Sincerely
James

And to add, that there is no phone numer to ask general queries such as this, just email and you dont know when they will reply to you, which i dont think is good customer service, just easy for them.

Travel Tips for Leeds

Everyone is luv

by largerama

Dont be shocked, surprised or embarassed if anybody calls you "luv". It is a term of endearment and not sexual, sexist or meaning of any offence. Men will say it to men, women to men, women to women and men to women. It can a be a little bit of a surprise at first but it gets kind of nice once you get used to it.

More cocktails to drool over

by BlueBeth about Bar Epernay

I love this place! Absolutely love it! The first time we went we were already 'tired and emotional' shall we say? so couldn't really appreciate what a great place it is. We ended up having two cocktails each and couldn't remember much after that!
But last week I insisted we go back and I'm so glad I did, this time I just had champagne (well, I had just won at the races!) and it was lovely. But the main point to Bar Epernay is to people watch. Everyone who's anyone in Leeds goes to Bar Epernay and it's really fun to watch them all trying desperately to be noticed. I wouldn't wear trainers, but to be fair I only ever wear trainers in the gym. The guys that I was out with last week had on jeans and trainers though. However people do usually make an effort here. (I'd been to the races so had a posh frock on)

It's a must-Cafe Aagrah

by traceyspacey about Cafe Aagrah

I had seen the name of this restaurant chain elsewhere in Leeds, but I hadn't given it much thought. We were invited out to celebrate a friends birthday (another Tracy, just different spelling) and Cafe Aagrah had just opened in Clarence Dock. The service was amazing, really friendly. We were chatting so much that we kept forgetting to look at the menu's and make our order. They were really patient with us. This is South Asian food with a Kashmiri influence, it is tapas style, so you get to try out a few dishes. The restaurant is light and relaxing with an open theatre kitchen where you can see all food being prepared. We eventually made up our minds, there is a large choice and it as hard deciding. The food was amazing and authentic. Everything tasted so fresh. Before we had finished we knew that we will go back again. As the other Tracy went to the toilet, her boyfriend asked if they had any candles to put in her desert. They checked and said no, sorry. As the deserts arrived, there was a candle in each (one for Tracy and one for me) with happy birthday pipped around the edge. I found out afterwards that they had popped into Tesco's nearby and purchased the candles. It made our night.

They have an extensive menu, plenty of wines and cocktails to choose from as well. Can't wait to go back.

I have found out more about Aagrah. Their philosophy is to introduce 'the spice of live' into your lives. They are a family business that opened in 1977 in Shipley. This is their 12 restaurant in Yorkshire, all are family run. Shilpa Shetty went to the Aagrah restaurant in Leeds last year for her birthday. It was all great.

MILL HILL CHAPEL

by alyf1961

Mill hill chapel was designed by Bowman and Crowther in 1848. The chapel that stands on the site today replaced an earlier church that was built in 1672 after the declaration of indulgence allowed non conformists to practice their religion in public. It was formerly a Presbyterian church which opened its door to its congregation in 1674. The cost of the building was £400 which was raised by propriety shares. In 1767 the trustee's appointed Joseph Priestly the minister. Joseph was a scientist and the discoverer of oxygen. He stayed as minister until 1773. Whilst in Leeds he wrote thirty books and founded the leeds library, which is the oldest surviving public subscription library in England. The new chapel was opened on 27th December 1848 and cost £7,300 to build.
