Where to leave your bag
by Airpunk
If you just want to spend a single day in Leeds, you are surely looking for a place to leave your bag. The bus and coach station at Dyer St. doesn't have such facilities anymore. There is a luggage storage desk at the central train station which opens at 7:00 a.m. When I arrived in Leeds at 4.45 a.m., this was my first problem. I expected automated lockers like the ones I know from Germany or the Netherlands. Maybe this was due to the terrorist threat. So my choice was to wait for the desk to open or to walk around with a heavy backpack...
Home of Heartbeat...

Goathland
Home of the fictitious Aidensfield of the tv series Heartbeat. If you're a fan of the series you'll enjoy wandering around the town.
Stop in the shops and take pics of the buildings that you normally see on the small screen.
A stop at the Goathland Hotel, known as the Aidensfield Arms on the show, will top off your stop. Sorry, Gina's not behind the bar to serve you.

by mocca about Three Horse Shoes
Just like throughout England, this pub serves good food for a good price.
And it is one of the best around Leeds, Almost every night it is booked full. If you come alone or with 2-4 people, there should be a table ready, or a little wait. But if coming with a bigger group, make sure you make an reservation
DELICIOUS TRADITIONAL FOOD
by alyf1961 about TIGER TIGER
Tiger Tiger is a national chain of pub restaurants. They do a lunch menu, which is divided into price order starting at £4.00 up to £11.00 for main courses. The evening menu is more extensive and includes steaks, ribs, fajitas and pasta. The evening menu ranges from £8 up to £18 for a main course. My favourite meal from Tiger Tiger is Cumberland sausage and mash with gravy.
The Black Prince
by traceyspacey
I often look at statues and have no idea who they are. So after taking pictures in the City Square I found out. The figure on the horse is the Black Prince, otherwise known as Edward of Woodstock, Prince of Wales. (15th June 1330-8 June 1376). He was the eldest so of King Richard lll of England and Philippa of Hainault. He was apparently a great military leader and well liked. He died before his father and so the throne was passed to his son on his Fathers death.
So why is there a sculpture of him in Leeds City Square? It was a gift from the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Colonel Thomas Walter Harding. The Black Prince has no connection with Leeds, but Colonel Thomas Walter Harding believed that it symbolised the virtues of democracy and chivalry.
The equestrian statue greets visitors as you arrive at the station.
