the old clock by piglet44 We did not stay here because it was full but we stopped here for a meal and they had the most wonderful lounge with all kinds of ancient artifacts in it. They have a really ancient carved clock and the creeper growing on the outside of the building is also very ancient. I have no idea how it is to stay at ,but at least peek inside and if you have time to eat there you will certainly enjoy it....
fascinating old building with lots of history Theme: Inn

The red creeper hanging about by Lifestyles In the city centre, this building was the first to be constructed for the labourers of the Cathedral. This was somewhere for the builders to chill out, after a hards days mosonery and toil. Dating back to 1230, reception area is full of antiques including a clock built by prisoners of war from the Nepoleon wars. There is also Vaginian Ivy which is over 500 years old still hanging in the courtyard, and a ghostly cavaliar. The London Mail carriage The Flying Machine used to stop here, and many famouse people have stayed here.
There is a car park, meeting rooms and black timbered beams.all the bedrooms have private bathrooms, colour TV with Sky, radio, tea and coffee tray, direct dial telephone and hair dryer. A lift is also available
