Deverill End B and B: Wonderful Country bed and breakfast

A charming rural setting down a country lane in the Village of Sutton Veny .this b and b was a charmer. The delightful welcome given us by Joy and her husband Sim was just wonderful. Brilliant full English breakfast and every convenience , and the view out into the fields was very enjoyable.the recommended the George Inn pub for dinner and it was also wonderful.
Not to be missed.

The wonderful scenery and the warm hospitality!

The Old Bell Hotel: Wow that's old

My father was all excited about this place which was built in the 14th century and has been "kept together" since then. Given its history and exposed wood beams and plaster throughout it's historically neat. As a hotel, not so much. The room we stayed in had two, dare I say, twin beds (check out the photo). The beds were so short that I had my shins and feet hanging over and woke up with sore knees. I'm only 6'0". There is 1 shared bathroom complete with sink, toilet and tub (no shower) for all occupants. There are also some exposed beams in there as well. So from a historical point of view it's nice, but if you need an adequate bed and a shower, go somewhere else.

Very old, and you can see that throughout your entire stay.

Hudson's Field: Camping near Salisbury

Hudson’s field was named after a mayor of Salisbury during the 19th century who was called Hudson. Here there’s a camping & caravanning site which faces the ramparts of old Sarum Castle, the village of Stratford lies just about a mile off. Low flying planes come over from serum airfield, Boscum Down airfield & Highpost runway, apart from that it’s very peaceful with only people walking their dogs & flying their kites. Sometimes you can hear the guns on Salisbury Plain thudding away; they can go on until 11.30pm!

The site is a 30 minute walk along the river Avon from Salisbury. A visit to the city is a must, with its shops & stunning cathedral. Gliding, fishing, horse riding & cycling are all within easy reach of the site. The Iron Age settlement of Old Sarum, conserved by English Heritage, is close by. There’s also a pub nearby called The old castle which has a harvester restaurant, you can sit outside under heater lamps. 150 Pitches for campers, & non members are welcome.

Facilities are: Toilets, showers, washing-up sinks, laundry, chemical disposal point, play area for ball games.

The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast: Salisbury's Best B&B

this is a lovely victorian bed and breakfast in wiltshire. very quaint and cozy with reasonable prices. a very accomodating host who will answer to your every need. everything abt is was just lovely - the rooms, interiors, dining room, garden, yummy breakfast. a major plus is that its walking distance to the endless st. bus terminal where you can take buses to stonehenge and old sarum castle. it is also walking distance to the town center, salisbury cathedral and pubs/restaurants. reservations allowed via email as well.

location, back garden, very clean and well kept, host

Matt & Tiggy's: Matt & Tiggy's

As their card states, Bed & Breakfast at hostel prices. This place was recomended to my by my friend James (jpaustin on VT) as a great place to stay, and it was. The owners are super friendly and we stayed in their home (apparently they have a couple of sites), and play with their kids. My only real complaint was they had gotten rid of breakfast in the traditional B&B sense, but you could pay for a bagle. James told me one of his favorite memories was sitting at breakfast with this family and I'm sorry I missed it. Take time to look up their registry and see all the different people who've stayed, its interesting.
