Swindon Wiltshire
Swindon is in the county of Wiltshire, about 70 miles (1 hours drive) from London.
It was put on the map in the age of the steam trains. Isambard Kingdom Brunel built the Rail works there.At one time the works were a very big concern but with the passing of the steam trains this was closed. But there is a museum of rail there.
Swindon has a number of famous people who come from there, Billy Piper, Diana Dors, Melinda Messinger to name but a few,.
It also has a football team, speedway and ice hockey team.
Swindon is pretty central to many places, London, the Cotswolds, the coast, Bath, and Bristol.
The towns road system can be a bit of a "pain"if you do not know it, with its oneway systems and roundabouts, notably the "magic roundabout" which is about five or six roundabouts in one.
The shops are improving more are moving to the town, and there is the Outlet Village where there are a lot more.
There are a number of hotels such as the Hilton, Blunsdon House Hotel, the De Vere and The Goddard Arms.
Plenty of places for eating out.
And a number of nightclubs.
