honest opinion

The roads out - they should all have a sign saying 'thank you for visiting Redditch, now please wipe your feet!'
Redditch was a great town with character until the powers that be saw fit to turn the town centre in one huge theme pub. Lost it's old cinema (criminal to turn and art deco cinema into a Chicago Rock), lost it's soul, gained the biggest surge towards a drink culture imaginable!
For goodness sake... if anyone with any clout, balls or indeed integrity in the council/development corporation reads this... stop turning what was once a vibrantly cultural place into a litter and vomit-strewn chav-town.
How corrupt must the powers-that-be be, to tear down some of the best schools the town had and build more generic boxes for people to live in? Where in god's name do you expect the children of these new homes to be schooled? I guess if the right palms are greased eh...?
One redeeming feature of the Town Centre is the Palace Theatre. The other redeeming feature of the town as a whole is that there are still decent people there who want their town to be the wonderful, multi-cultural icon of a place-to-live that it deserves to be! You have fantastic citizens... give them some credit that they want more than yet another place to buy cheap alco-pops! Leaving for good - that's about it
Lincoln- A Series of Day Trips

"A Treat for the Eyes"
Fantastic building that dominates the sky line.
My very good friends Jackie and Robin live in this city . I have visited a few times and each time discovered something new
Looking across to the Castle which incidently is still in use. The Main building inside the castle is the courthouse. Also the castle is open to tourists to wander round. Periodically through the year various evets are held here. Last one I attended was an open air classical concert which was very enjoyable.
At Night all the lights highlight the features of the building and it becomes a magical almost ethreal place. Well spooky when there is fog as well :-)
This houses an extensive library.
Inside while taking part in the tour, took thissnap from a higher vantage point. You can see where the line of the building is out with respects to the original Cathredral that was here. Oops i think is the main word
"Lena On The Tower"
This picture of my girlfriend standing on the tower at Lincoln castle with the Catherdral i the background.
This area in front of the castle is a mixture of building styles, the streets are cobbled and just off to the left it dips down a very steep street into the new part of town. Lots of photo opportunities around here. A good restraurant nestles against the wall of the castle and comes highly recommended. Just down from the Tourist Information shop there is a small shop that sells the best ice cream in Lincoln.
