Do we have to go again?
"why go?"
For me, its a hockey destination. The town is more commercial/industrial than a tourist spot. It does have a beach, and a golf course with a good reputation, plus a few other things to do (see tips), but I'm not going to suggest anyone should jump on a plane and go visit.
If the Clyde coast is what attracts you, try nearby Troon, Prestwick or Ayr (for example).
Perhaps my views on the place are tainted by the hockey experiences - my son has been to play there 5 or 6 times in the last 7 seasons, and he's still to be on the winning side! Plus it seems to bring out the worst in him, and he plays badly!
