Handy Location

The Dalesgate Hotel

We found this hotel fairly well located for our accommodation following a friend's wedding in Haworth and were able to get several single rooms for a reasonable price. Conveniently the hotel allowed my two friends to check us and our luggage in fairly early on the day of the wedding, while I was doing the bride's hair and make up and they returned with favourable reports of what they'd seen.

Arriving late that evening and using the code we were provided with to open the rear door leading into the hotel from the car park, I found my room in the roof area very nice, with an interesting ceiling sloping at all angles and a comfortable bed. Both the bedroom and the bathroom seemed well maintained and very clean although the pink and grey decor must have been put up in the 1980's. The view over the hills from the back was nice too.

My friends enjoyed their scrambled eggs for breakfast but I wasn't so impressed with the quality of the coffee, toast and jam I had. The other people in the breakfast room seemed pleased with their full English breakfasts, so perhaps it would be a good place to stay for that.
