Stayed for 2 days at the Glendale at the end of April. Very clean, comfortable room with spotless en-suite bathrom with great shower. The B&B was a few minutes' walk from the centre of Keswick. Good breakfast. The owners, Martin and Gilly, were pleased to offer advice about walks/things to do in the Lake District and had a very useful book with guests' reviews on restaurants that they had tried in Keswick.
We spent two nights here and Glendale lived up to its other reviews. Lovely comfortable room, nicely furnished. Tea and coffee facilities in room, good quality 'Fair Trade' teabags provided. Excellent breakfast, with fresh ground coffee which was a bonus. The breakfast really sets you up for the day. Helpful owners with good local knowledge which they could tailor to your interests. Only 5 mins walk into Keswick where there is a wide variety of places to eat each evening. Would not hesitate to visit again
The best Guest House is Keswick! We come back here year after year and we are never disappointed! Each time we are welcomed into a relaxed and homely atmosphere where the hosts are friendly and truly lovely.
The breakfast is delicious,(especially the scrambled egg on muffin) the service is fabulous and the rooms are clean, comfortable and very cosy. Although in a peaceful and quiet area it is only 5 mins walk from the Centre and 10 to the beautiful Lake.
We came to Keswick last month on a special occasion and stayed in one of apparently the best hotels there. Well it was not a patch on this place! We shall never stay anywhere else again! This place cannot be beaten! Absoutley fantastic and as you can see highly recommended!
Just had a four night stay at this B&B and could not fault anything . Rooms are furnished to a high standard and are very very clean .The shower is a power shower and room had modern tv and radio.A great location 5 minute walk into centre of town yet set in a quiet street (no noise ).
A large selection is on offer for breakfast and cooked to perfection. Owners very helpful and friendly.Go there you wont be disapointed.
This was our first time at Glendale and we were not disappointed. Gilly and Martin made us feel very welcome and were friendly and helpful. Our room was furnished to a high standard, was very clean and the food was plentiful and delicious - just what you needed for a day walking the fells!! The hotel was well situated and quiet - we had a very comfortable 2 day break. Thanks once again Gilly and Martin - we will certainly be returning.
My wife and I stayed at Glendale Guest House for 2 nights in Sep 2007. It was our first visit to the Lake District, and we used Trip Advisor to help us choose somewhere to stay, and we were most certainly not disappointed.
Martin & Gilly made us very welcome to their home and provided excellent service throughout our stay. We stayed in room 3 which was a double ensuite at a cost of £30 pppn. It was furnished to a high standard and was spotlessly clean.
On arrival, Martin & Gilly provided us with a map of the town and pointed our various area of interest, which was very useful. They keep a guest comment book for guests to note down their experiences about local eateries - again very useful for reference before heading out for dinner.
The breakfast was excellent. It was served at 8.30am and was cooked to order. There was a very wide range of continental & cooked items available and it was delicious! On the first morning, Martin asked about our plans for the day and we told him which walk we intended on doing (Catbells). He offered us with the lend of a map and directions for this walk - again a nice little extra touch that makes all the difference.
The property is situated in a quiet residential area only a few minutes walk to the town centre's main shopping/restaurant/bar area.
Our stay was very plesant and we would definitely look at Glendale as our first option if we are staying in Keswick again in the future. Thanks Martin & Gilly for a lovely couple of days.
We have just returned from visiting Glendale for the second time. Martin & Gilly are excellent hosts and full of knowledge about the area and what best to see/visit. The facilities are clean and well kept, and the breakfast too die for! We'll definately be returning again, and reccommend a visit to see for yourselves.

we found this place quite by chance through an on line search and could not have been more pleased. Our hosts were most hospitable and helpful, food was delicious and the room pristine. A word of warning to guests not familiar with the town - parking is at a premium and you may not be able to park close to Glendale House. However, the facility is conveniently located within walking distance of great restaurants and shopping. If we are ever in the area again we would most certainly choose this guest house!
We only stayed at the Glendale Guest House for one night but it was fantastic, the levels of cleanliness were superb, room very comfortable and the owners were most hospitable with great knowledge of the local area. The full english breakfast comes very highly recommended! Overall, totally faultless and we will most definitely return in the future.
A lovely Guest House! The food was excellent. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The location was convenient to downtown Keswick. Martin and Gilly were very gracious hosts!
