VIKINGS
by hevbell
Largs was the site of a battle in 1263 where the Scots finally defeated the Norse King and got rid of the Vikings. This tall monument on the shore near the marina commemorates this event and is affectionately known locally as "the Pencil". The Viking connection is explored at the Vikingar museum in town.
Largs - The Small Village of Paradise
by bjanuario
"The best touristic place in Scotland."
Largs is a small village placed in North Ayrshire, have abour 20.000 inhabitants, is a peacefull and secure place. I lived there for 9 months, and i must confess, is one of the best places to live. There is a marina, a harbour, fantatic view over isle of cumbrae and river clyde. When there is fog it creates an amazing myst over the village. There is the National Sports Center, where u can found a big resort for sports and fitness. There is a vikingar who is a sport center too, and they have a swimming-pool. The marginal is an outstanding place as well.
