Drinking in Loughborough.

Statistically, Loughborough has the highest consumption of alcohol in Britain. In another way, Loughborough generates the most amount of money by selling alcohol. Consumption of alcohol by students are very high here. I have asked a few students, and I got to know that 5 pints of beer is the minimum for a night out. I am no drinker, so I just watch them getting drunk and vomitting anywhere on the streets. Yucks!
Vandalism by drunk students are common too especially on Friday and Saturday nites. Noise caused by them singing and shouting on their way home at 2 or 3 am in the morning is common too. Selling of alcohol starts at 11am, and when the exams just finished, you can see the pubs packed with students celebrating the end of their exams as early as 11am.
By the way, Loughborough's Students Union is the richest student union in UK. They do run a few pubs within the University. Perhaps, that's where the money come from - selling alcohol to students.

In 198 there was a very sad day near to us for a British Midland plane came down on the M1, fortunately and miracuously it killed no one on the ground but afew lots their lives on board, so all the people who were involved in the rescue and search and gave their lives we people dedicate this monument to which it stands in Kegworth Public Cemetery.

This place is a bit of a white elephant, it's never been as popular as anticipated, probably due to it's location as it's not exactly in the centre of town. Woolworths was it's biggest store which has recently closed and Zavvi has also gone into administration. The sports shop JJB looks set to be going the same way as well with sales of up to 95% off! There is still Cargo, TK Max and M & S food which really does just sell food and a very limited range of clothes. There is also a gym LA Fitness. You can park free if you spend £5 in M & S otherwise you pay when you leave. To get free parking you need to hand your parking ticket to cashier in store then put it in car park machine before leaving to validate it.
