Lynton 2006 - Scarecrow Festival
The origins of this are quite recent, though somewhat vague, no-one is quite sure who started it, but it has become an annual ritual every August. These strange figures start to appear, some with collecting tins, in people's gardens, on rooftops, balconies and all sorts of odd places.
This is just a selection here, there are at least a hundred or so scattered around the villages and the outlying houses and farms.
"Sir, you are drunk!"
"Yes madam, but you are ugly! In the morning I shall be sober!"
