From Edinburgh, heading back south towards London, we drove past the road to the town which bears the same name as my Australian home town of Melbourne.
This may or may not be the estate of the Prime Minister under Queen Victoria, Lord Melbourne. (1779-1848. William Lamb. Husband of Lady Caroline Lamb. Why named Melbourne I don't know. British peerage ??)

(On the bottom of the notice, 4 miles away. Better quality coming I hope !!??
