Next to the layby: Nature's Bed

We pitched up in-between a stream and a wall. On the other side of the wall was our car. It was utter darkness when we put up the tents and we could only feel the weight of the landscape surrounding us. Waking up enveloped by rock lying next to a stream was amazing. (Unfortunately I had not become aquainted with thermarests by then so my ribs have a completely different, and decidedly more colourful description of our camping experience!) A lady came around in the morning to collect the £1 camping fee.
