Go to Belfast ZooThe animal collection of the Belfast Zoo has changed dramatically over the last few years, particularly since the redevelopment of the Zoo, a project that was completed nearly six years ago. A number of factors have influenced the selection of the species that have been acquired for maintenance and breeding in the collection. 0nce again, the last few months on the Zoo have seen some interesting and important developments in the breeding programmes of a number of Zoo species.Friends of Belfast Zoo: The friends of Belfast Zoo is a group of people who, have taken their Zoo Membership or Sponsorship one step further and actively assist the Zoo in various ways. As a Zoo Friend you will be invited to participate in various activities, such as fund raising, giving public talks, organising events or setting up and running special projects like Children's Saturday Club. You will also receive invitations to special events like the Annual General Meeting, barbecues and professional lectures. You can choose to take an active role in regular activities, or you can simply lend your support to one or two special events a year.
