Hilton Belfast - An overall impressive Hotel
by A TripAdvisor Member
I only stayed at the Hilton in Belfast for a one night stop-over but was very impressed by the pleasant and helpful nature of all the staff and the overall comfort/cleanliness of the room.
I didn't get a chance to eat at the hotel although the bar food menu did look 'good enough to eat' !!.
The only down side to the room I stayed in were the trains.
In the evening they were a bit of background noise that could be ignored although when they started up again in the morning c05:30, it was as if the drivers were having a competition to see who had the loudest horn! - but saying that I had a 6am alarm call booked anyway so if you need to get up early the rooms facing the track are ideal !
Overall an inpressive Hotel with staff that look like and really do, want to help.

This is the world famous Hilton. Located next to the Waterfront Hall, 2 minutes from Central Station (rail) and about a 5 minute walk into the heart of Belfast.

We booked the Hilton Belfast for a weekend break, on the internet. As soon as we had confirmed our booking, we got the information that the hotel parking was £14 a day... not mentioned of course before we booked. In fact the £14 offer was only if we left the car in all day - if we went in and out then we would have been charged hourly rates which would have come to more!
When we arrived we were welcomed and offered complimentary newspapers. Next morning, they hadn't arrived and when we rang down to ask, we were informed that they had been delivered, but someone must have taken them. Then an hour later one of the papers was delivered - and we were informed that the other newspaper hadn't arrived in yet.. not a very consistent story, to that we had received earlier that morning! When we got our bill, we were also being charged for the papers... not very complimentary!!
We decided to have breakfast in our room - but unfortunately didn't read the smallprint that said that additional to the room service charge of £6, there as also a tray charge of £3.50.. how else did they intend delivering the breakfast except for on a tray?
We had booked the Hilton due to its leisure facilities - including a swimming pool - however, that could be re-defined as a large bath, being 10 metres in length...
In conclusion, service was ok, but our feeling was that there were too many hidden extras... left a sour taste

Excellent location for a city break and very warm and welcoming staff. Rooms are fine ;try to get one overlooking the river Lagan. It's a 5 minute walk to the city centre but plenty to see around the hotel if you are just out for ashort stroll. The red bus tour calls/drops off at the hotel and other tours, such as the fantastic trip to the Giants' Causeway , collects from the hotel. The Sonoma restaurant is very good for evening meals, £20 approx. for 3 course dinner but also bar meals available. plenty of freebies in the rooms and a good size. our Saga weekend break was superb.

Made an Internet booking for this place months ago for a conference and wasn't disappointed. Great location next to Waterfront Hall. Close to City Airport. Fantastic view (yes I do mean that) overlooking river and old Harland and Wolf cranes. Never actually made it to the restaurant or pool but room was spacious and luxurious and hotel within 10 minutes walk of City Hall and some great bars and restaurants. I'm going back.

We stayed in this hotel last weekend, the whole experience from start to finish was brilliant. we arrived at 10am off an early flight from the U.K, normal check in time is 3pm however they got our room ready for us straight away. The hotel itself is modern and spotlessly clean, the staff are friendly and the food is delicious. Would reccomend this hotel to anyone, we will certainly be back.
Great Service, Great location

Having stayed in the Belfast Hilton on a couple of occasions I have to say I find it hard to fault its service levels & location. On both occasions I have stayed the service was excellent, nothing is too much trouble. No fear of being left waiting in the Hilton bar without somebody waiting to take your food order within a few minutes. Indeed a manager passed through and asked every table was 'everything ok'. You don't get that very often these days in my experience.
I love the Hilton because the rooms are comfy & the location is great for Belfast city centre, Waterfront Hall, Odyssey etc. The room service food is very good too! Our last visit was better than the first & we always have a lovely view for breakfast!
Like all hotels there is always something one can find fault with but overall the experience is very good.
Certainly will be using the Hilton again & again.

Stayed here for a short break on a cheap deal with breakfast and evening meal on the first night. Food was excellent for both the meal and the breakfast. The breakfast especially was great - was very impressed to find veggie sausages!
Only complaint was it was so cold in the lobby and the bar - had to sit with my coat on.

Hopefully you will get a local answer but meanwhile I looked up the Journey Planner for N.I. here:
http://www.translink.co.uk/
and I think that the best route is to go to the nearby Laganside Bus Station from the hotel and get a bus with destination as SHRIGLEY MILL bus Service Number 11 I believe. This stops at Killinchy Crossroads after about 50 minutes. Is Killinchy Crossroads the nearest bus stop for www.balloohouse.com/ ?
