I recently stayed at the Days Hotel on Hope Street in Belfast which is reasonable value.

It’s also in a good location for getting to/from City Airport. The number 600 Airport Express Bus will take you from the airport to the Europa Bus Centre in around 15-20 minutes at a cost of £1.40. Just walk through the Bus Centre and you’ll see the Days Hotel. Buses run from around 05.30to 22.00 on weekdays.
Have a good trip

The city airport isn't in Belfast city centre (strange, I know!) you're best to book a hotel in the centre of town and then travel to the airport. There's a shuttle bus from great victoria street station to the airport (The Airport Express 600) which operates every 20 minutes. Great victoria street station is right in the heart of belfast city centre and is located beside the famous Europa hotel... there's a days in or the jurys hotel on the same road as these (great victoria street)... check out the prices online. The bus operates beween 06:00 and 22:05, and costs £2.20 for a return journey.

Travel Tips for Belfast
Things to pack for a Day Trip in October
by suvanki
For a Day Trip to Belfast- I just carried a large handbag- big enough to pack my camera, purse, notebook, and a fold up carry bag-in case I bought anything - I was travelling by Ryanair with Hand luggage only, so this was strictly 1 bag! Belfast is prone to rain and cold weather, so come prepared- layers, including waterproof jacket.
Even in the Summer months, there might be rain, so come prepared.
Belfast is a compact city, so it is easy to get around on foot. However, pack your old comfy shoes, there are a few uneven places, and you might walk for miles, while exploring Belfast. As always - carry essential medicines and bring your prescription. There are pharmacies here a plenty in Belfast if you are near to running out As much as you can carry! Some unusual and photogenic areas!
The Big Fish.

It's a huge salmon, 10 metres long, beautifully blue and created from ceramics by John Kindness (wonderful surname!).
The ceramic 'scales' are decorated with texts and images relating to the history of Belfast, including newspaper headlines and contributions from Belfast school children. There's also a time capsule inside with information about the city.
It sits on Donegall Quay, near the Customs House. Worth having a read of its 'scales'.
malmaison - oozing Style
by kranstonakov about Malmaison
malmaison is a hotel chain that landed on our shores a couple of years agao, and is still very much undisovered by the vast majority of belfast residents. Just round the corner from McHughs, walkingdistance from the cathedral quarter, the hotel bar ooxes class and sophistication, with an impressive spirits menu and cocktail making ability. Its a great place for that sunday afternoon drink or a great pitstop when exploring the city. definitely worth a look. Quality. Smart
Good for breakfast
by clivedinburgh about Sullivans
I used this place regularly when working in Belfast, mostly for a breakfast on a weekend or the occasional working lunch. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the venue is has been well designed. Spanish omelette - loads of fillings
Belfast Castle
by St_Vincent
Belfast Castle sits in the grounds of the Cave Hill Country Park which can be reached by any of the No.1 bus routes (1a, 1b etc.) from the city centre in around 15 minutes. If you ask for the castle you’ll be dropped at the bottom of a road called Innisfayle Park and there is a steep 5 minute walk up to the entrance to the park. Then either turn right and take the marked Castle Trail or follow the driveway which is a bit longer but not as steep. It’s not a large sprawling castle like some, more of a mansion really, but it is quite attractive with a sweeping stone staircase leading down to the gardens. The gardens are well kept with a nice herb garden and the themed Cat Garden (see Off the Beaten Path tip for more details of the Cat Garden).
Open daily - free admission
