Good location in southwest Belfast in the University District. Close to pubs and eateries, transit lines and only about a 20 minute walk to city centre.
Establishment is run by an elderly couple. The Mister is the greeter and concierge of the house and is quite the conversationlist. When he found I was from Oregon he told me about his fascination with logging and lumber production and how much of the lumber used to build in old Belfast came from the US West Coast.
He also gave me some insights on what it was like living in the Belfast countryside during the Blitz of WWII.
The room was small and perhaps a bit cramped with shared loo and shower. But things were clean and tidy. I would recommend that you ask for a non-smoking room if preferred. My room must have been previously occupied by a chain smoker who never left the room.
But, all in all, a nice, economical, well located abode.
Unique Quality: Nothing more than what I've described above. A clean place to lay your head but not linger in.
