Derry City Cemetery - IRA memorial
This is the IRA memorial. It is of the Irish mythical figure, Cuchulainn. Cuchulainn was a fierce warrior who, upon being wounded in battle, tied himself to a standing stone so to die on his feet. On both sides of the memorial are the graves of IRA volunteers who died during the Troubles. This stretch is known as Republican Row.
