Comfortable accomodation

I am not sure about the doorms because we stayed in a different building around the corner. Rooms are comfortable and showers clean. There is a big and gorgeous kitchen downstairs where you can make yourself some coffee, breakfast, and there is even a wide collection of spices if you decide to cook.

Funky Hostel

Best (5.0 of 5.0 stars)
by written on April 27, 2007

This hostel has quite nice rooms, free breakfast, tea and coffee, free internet, and the coolest, weirdest lounge room you ever saw!

The beds are comfortable wooden frame bunks (no squeaking) and despite being just off the main street, it's quite quiet.

The dorm rooms are 11-13 GBP

Unique Quality: The lounge room is so weird with its funky decorations and instruments. Free internet is a welcome perk as well.

great hostel

The owners of this hostel were so friendly. They had free internet (questionable usage), but the internet room had some of the owner's treasures from abroad. They were happy to swap stories and made the stay a lot of fun.

Derry City Independent Hostel (Steve?s Backpackers

by written on May 1, 2003

We did not stay in the actual hostel, but in another house a few streets away which also belonged to the hostel, but I assume that hostel itself will be similar to the place that we stayed in. The hostel had a good easy-going atmosphere, and was nicely decorated with many travel souvenirs from all over the world. We got great advice from the owners of the hostel about where to go and what to do. Breakfast is included in the price, and you can just take out of the fridge whatever you need. Internet access seems to be usually available, but it was down when we stayed there. The hostel is very badly signposted though, and you really only see it when you’re right in front of it. If you come by car there is usually parking available in the street after office hours. It can be a bit tricky during the day, and you might have to leave your car somewhere else temporarily and bring it back to the hostel after 5pm.

Unique Quality: was a great place to Stay. 3 bedded rooms, great barbeque area and very friendly and social. Small hostel and gets a much better reputation than the bigger HI.
