The Giant's Walk
"In aid of Action Cancer"
The Giant's Walk is one of my favourite events of the year. It starts at the Giant's Causeway and follows the coast for 10 miles to Carrick-a-red Rope Bridge. It is always on the first Saturday in September so if you fancy a bit of exercise and want to help a local cancer charity, have a look at the Action Cancer website.
The walk takes approximately 4 - 5 hours, depending on how fast you walk and how long you take for a lunch (and snooze!) break. Every year approximately 300 people do this walk.
The charity provides local support for cancer sufferers and their families. I have used their services and know others who have as well and they are a very valuable part of the community.
(Apologies if you were looking for information on Portrush - this was the closest I could get to the Giant's Causeway!)
