We were here to see Chalky
"Dinner at Rick Steins Bistro"
We had driven to Padstow from our base in Mevagissey, via a day on the beach in Newquay.
We had booked up prevoiusly a table for two in Rick Stein's "St. Petroc's Hotel and Bistro"
Padstow has a nice harbour but is a bit busier than peaceful Mevagissey.
"Rick Stein's Padstow"
Most foodie people know it for the seafood chef Rick Stein.
He has certainly put the place on the map. He also owns a lot of the restaurants, catering for all tastes and pockets.
The Seafood Restaurant - for special occasions or if money is no object...don't forget to give his faithful companion Chalky a stroke as you go in
St Edmund's House - Hotel
St. Petroc's Hotel and Bistro – This spot is less formal than the main restaurant and a little easier on the pocket. No skimping on the food however...really excellent
Rick Stein's Cafe - Good for a cup of tea and a cake
Stein's Fish & Chips - Very posh fish & chipsGive Chalky a pat as he stands guard at Rick Steins restaurant

Padstow Harbour
Lunch at Stein's Fish & Chips
Courtyard at the rear
Young and old alike doing a spot of fishing.
