Wonderful views, marvellously comfortable
We arrived at the Rowardennan Hotel, on the banks of Loch Lomond, after a long hike north along the West Highland Way. We were booked into room 5, which was just perfect after such a long hike. (I thnk there's only 10 rooms in all.)
A big bedroom with plenty of space to stretch out, and a big comfy bed. Deep bath to soak weary limbs. And, best of all, a little walk-in closet with window, seperate from the bedroom, so we could dry our stuff. The window overlooked the birdfeeder, with goldfinches.
The Clansman Bar, also part of the hotel, is popular meeting place for the walkers and visitors to this part of the loch. It has a good selection of bar food, and wide range of beers. Wine by the glass wasn't great, but I wasn't complaining at this stage!
Breakfast was the usual cereals, toast and fry-up, but with wonderful views across the loch.
Double room, ensuite, with breakfast, £85 a night. Wonderful views and your own private drying room!
