"June Festival - "Common Riding""
Every June the Hawick Common Riding takes place.
The roots of the tradition start in 1514 when the English were deafeted in a small battle outside the town at Hornshole.
The Common Riding starts with male and female riders, riding round the boundary of the town. There are several other events that the majority of the town take part in.
